The Beginning~{Open}

It was the first time Alice had been to Beechleaf and so far it felt refreshing to her. It felt so open compared to her home but it made her feel free. Alice walked along the beeches, admiring the great blue that shined against the sun. A small breeze shuffled the great leaves of the palm. It brought a smile to the girl's face as she noticed the large white building in the distance. The reason she came to the town was because of that building, after all it was her beginning as a breeder. Her smile widened as she began to dance along the shore-line, her violin case tapping her back lightly as she spun around. Her arms protectively covered the egg that one of her friends had given to her. The egg was shades of purple and Alice had to admit that even she didn't know what would hatch from it. (Mewtwo's egg.) Excitment filled her and managed to get her back on track as she ran up to the large building.

It was much larger than she had inticipated it to be. Her excitment fluttered with a small streak of nervousness as she knocked and entered the building. Alice snuggled the egg close to her chest gently as her eyes searched for the professor. Her eyes caught the receptionist first and the girl walked up to her, her voice was soft as she spoke.

I'm suppose to meet the Professor for my starter pokemon, do you know where she might be?

Alice hugged the egg closer and hoped the professor was in. She already knew which pokemon she wanted and she didn't want to to wait much longer before meeting her new partners.

Prof. Rose was in the next room getting everything settled for when her new trainer got here. She got what she thought would be showing up any second now. Hearing a soft knock on the front door she knew her time was up. The trainer was a future breeder so Alice would get two pokemon of the same breed to start there future off as breeders. "Come in, come in I'm right in the next room all set up for you Alice." The girl was a beginner but would be allowed an intermediate pokemon. So she had brought all the slightly rarer pokemon out they where in there poke'balls still. They had a card leaning against it with the species, gender, moves and all other important info on it.

Alice listened as the professor called to her. Excitment filled her as she entered the room. Alice gave a small nod of greeting to the professor since both her hands were occupied with hold the purple-ish egg. Good evening, professor. Her voice was still as soft as before. She then made her way to the balls that rested, each one with the name of the pokemon it held inside. She placed the egg gently beside her, then moved to grab two of the balls, instead of tossing she merely pointed it downward calling out, Come on out. In a flash of red two meowths appeared. One sat while the other stood, both staring straight at her. Hmm... Closely she inspected them both and in her eyes they both gleamed with health. I would like these two please professor. A smile lit her face and they both meowed at the same time, rubbing against her legs. Before anything else she carefully picked up the egg she had been holding.

Rose had bean walking for a long time. It was a long walk from her orphanage to Prof. Rose's place. At least she finally made it. Knocking she entered. "Hi Prof. Rose is inspecting me." The secretary waved her into the next room. In her arms she cradled an egg as well it was blue and red. Rose didn't have a clue what was inside but she would love it no matter what.

Prof. Rose smiled, "thew's two would be perfect for starters for a breeder. They are very well tempered." Walking over to a back pack she hands it to the girl. Inside is a pokedex, some pokeballs. Potions and other healing items as well as a breeders license a ever stone a tm/hm case and a town map. Just than another knock reminds her that Alice wasn't the only one showing up that day. "Rose greetings this is Alice. You to will be picking from the intermediate list."

Alice kneeled and scratched both of them on the ears, both mewed in pleasure. Hello, I'm Alice. I hope we can get along...um... She thought for a moment, Nyana, Nyanko. (Nyana- girl, Nyanko-boy) Before Alice could stand back up another girl entered the room. The professor called her Rose. She smiled and gave a small nod in greetings, Hello Rose. Both of the meowths turned to see the other and both tilted their heads. Alice moved out of the way so that Rose could have a full view of the pokeballs. Flicking their tails as if greeting her and then both sat down on each side of Alice. It reminded her of dogs with strict training but in a way Alice thought it was kind of funny when they started to poke each other with their tails.

Rose smiled at the girl and her meowths. "Hi," walking over to the pokeballs she grabbed the one that said Pikachu with out even looking at the moves or gender. It was what she wanted. She tossed it in the air and it spun a few times before the pikachu came out. Up close Rose could tell it was a girl. The black stripes on the left ear went a little further than usual looked almost like a spike. "Hmm something girlie a flower name maybe. I got it Suta it means Star."

Star quickly climbed onto her shoulder they where best friends already.

Prof. Rose hadn't seen an automatic friendship like that in a while. "Well than here is your book bag. Your both ready to leave on your journey."

Alice's eyes glimmered when she saw the pikachu and then she realized she hadn't taken her things yet. She handed her egg to Nyana who accpeted it with a loud purr before grabbing her item. She stuffed the pokedex in the pocket of her jacket and the balls in her other pocket before pulling the violin case off her back. The case was rather large for a violin and when she opened it one could see why. Right next to where the scroll rested was a large boxy lump, that when Alice opened it, showed enough space for the potions and map. When she had fitted them enough she closed the case and slung it back to its place on her back. Alice was puzzled about where to put the HM/TM case since she never really wore a bag. Shrugging she just stuffed it into the inner pocket of her jacket before turning and smiling to the girl.

I'm ready to go, how about you Rose? Alice smiled, noting the pikachu on the girl's shoulder. Her meowths rubbed against her leg, reminding her about the egg in Nyana's paws. She took it back with a warm smile. They both mewed and before Alice stood back up completly the two of them jumped onto her shoulders; mimicking the pikachu. Thankfully Alice regained her balance fast enough before she could slam into something.

Rose took the book bag and swung it over her shoulders. For a second Suta jumped on her head until the book bag was settled than went back to her shoulders. She would go through it later. She picked her egg up that she had set down on the table and cradled it gently in her arms. "I see you have an egg as well." She wondered how she got hers. She had never seen an egg that color before. But she had to admit she had never seen one her color as well.

Smiling Rose nodded, "yea I'm ready to go. Who knows maybe we'll catch a pokemon on the way to Urdang City. It's a days travel through the Forest of Shadows." She should know she just came through them herself.

Alice nodded, slightly raising the egg in her arms. I don't know what it is but I can tell its gonna be something really good. She looked at the egg in Rose's arms, Yours is gonna be something really special too. She knew because she had never seen that type of pattern before. I hope we find something nice in the forest... I just hope we don't get lost like I did. Alice gave a nervous smile. She had left home a few days earlier than she needed and now she was thankful for it since she had gotten lost on more than half of the way there. Nyanko jumped down from her shoulder, perching ever so elegantly next to the door like we some sort of guide. Alice looked to her meowth and went over to rub him on the chin. He let out happy purr, It looks like he wants to be our guide. Alice chuckled a little.

Rose smiled she would have picked a meowth herself. But she wanted a pikachu more than anything. They where her favorites. "Yea I have never seen patterns like those on our eggs. When the lady gave it to me she said it would hatch in a week. Which was three days ago. Only four more days until it's supposed to hatch."

Rose looked up at Suta and smiled before scratching her ear. Looking at the meowth she giggled softly. "Great we can always use a guide."

Suta jumped down and ran up to Nyanko. "Pika, pikachu, chu, pikachu. *I'll help to.*"

Rose smiled, "looks like we have to guides now. Better than one. Let's head on out." Rose headed for the door stopped long enough for Suta to jump back on her shoulder before opening the door.

For a moment Alice thought that both of their eggs were given to them by the same person, the she banished the thought when Suta ran on over to Nyanko.

Nyanko stared at the pikachu for a moment before puffing out its chest, "Meow mya, meow meow." I'll be fine alone. Its pride seemed to glow when Nyana let out purr, Don't overdo yourself now.

Alice nodded and followed Rose out of lab, one meowth still perched on her shoulder, while the other practically trotted in front of them, his tail raised with obvious pride.

Rose walked behind Nyanko she had a feeling he told Suta that he didn't need help. But not being able to speak pokemon made it hard to tell. "Ok lead the way to the forest Nyanko." She knew the way but she also knew that Nyanko wanted to lead them.

Suta curled up on Roses shoulder and closed her eyes pretending to be asleep.

Rose loved the out doors but if she was going to be a coordinator she needed to train. "Suta why don't we train while we walk? Can you jump in the air and spin head over heals while using thunder bolt?"

Suta opened one eye thinking about it than jumped off of Rose's shoulder and ran ahead before jumping into the air and curling into a ball spinning. But when she went to use Thunder Bolt nothing happened. For she didn't know that move yet.

Alice followed closely behind Rose and watched as she sent her pikachu off. Oh so your a coordinator. Awe sparkled in her eyes, she loved coordinators since when they performed it was almost like dancing to her. She watched the pikachu spin in the air and when nothing happened she heard an almost inaudable meowth-chuckle seep from Nyana. If you'd like, I can let your pikachu train with my meowth. A smile lit her face.

Rose frowned and grabbed her Poke'dex and scanned Suta. "Pikachu lv ten, ability static, moves Growl, Thundershock, Tail Whip." Sighing Rose turned to Suta. "Sorry I should have checked before asking you to do that." Turning to Alice she smiled, "that would be great thanks. Hmm maybe Thundershock will do until Suta learns Thunderbolt." Turning to Suta she smiled, "try again but this time use Thunder Shock."

Suta glared at Nyana sparked coming from her red cheeks. But when Rose gave her an order she nodded. She started running again than jumped into the air and curling into a ball spinning. This time she used Thunder Shock and little thunder bolts sparked from her body making her look like a ball of thunder. When she landed she stumbled and fell face first.

Rose screamed excitedly. "It worked we'll need to work on the landing but it worked." Rose turned to Alice, "what are you a breeder, trainer or are you going to become a ranger someday?" Her eyes filled with aw at the mention of a ranger.

Nyana burst out with laughter along with Nyanko when Suta fell face first. Alice flicked one on the nose before giving a stern look to the other and they both stopped immediately. Nyana shifted her weight uneasily and Nyanko kept on walking. Alice sighed, You two shouldn't laugh at others. Both meowths seemed to meow something that Alice was almost positive was a fine.

Alice looked at Rose and smiled, I'm a breeder, or I'm training to be one. She saw the girl's eyes glitter at the mention of a ranger, Sorry if I disapointed you. She let out a soft chuckle at the end of her statement and Nyana poked her cheek with a soft paw.

Suta glared at the two meowths. She ran over to the nearest one and nipped it before running to Rose and jumping on her shoulder and crawling into the back pack.

Rose frowned as the meowths laughed at Suta. "Turning to Nyana and Nyanko she glared at them. "I would love to see you run jump and spin like that and land perfectly." Sighing she took the back pack off and held it in front of her. "Come on Suta you can't hide in there for ever."

Suta let out a loud cry and buried herself further under Rose's close.

Rose put the back pack back on leaving just a small opening for Suta to climb back out when she wanted to. "That's ok maybe I can get a meowth from you in the future. That was my second choice if they didn't have a Pikachu."

As if answering Rose Nyanko turned to look at the girl. His tail flicking from side to side, letting out a loud meow. He ran forward, jumped; mimicking the same way Suta had jumped, but instead of using an electric attack he unsheathed his claws to catch the glimmer of the sun before landing with a slide. He looked at Alice with a proud grin, "Mya Mya Meowth." So simple for a meowth. Alice let out a nervous laugh, she had absolutly no idea what her meowth was saying but knew it was probably some kind of taunt. Nyana jumped off of Alice's shoulder and padded up to Nyanko. She extended a claw and poked the male's charm with a strict meow, Don't cause trouble for our new master! Then the she-meowth trodded up to Rose with a friendly wave of her tail, I'm sorry about my Nyanko's behavior and my own. She meowed, But you must admit, hiding won't do much. Why don't you come out and beat my Nyanko at his own game? Nyana had to jump on Rose's shoulder for that last part since she had nearly whispered it. She jumped back to Alice's shoulder, seemingly content.

I have such show offs. Alice said nervously, then quickly changing the subject, If I do have any meowth eggs in the future I'll give you a call in the future, but first lets go find us some pokemon to help us both start off with. Alice put two fingers in her mouth and whistled, instinctivly Nyanko knew what it meant and raced back to his master's side. He jumped up on her shoulder, gave one glance to the hidden pikachu before closing his eyes and beginning his purr. Alice was more than sure that that purr was meant as a suck up.

Rose was taking by surprise as Nyana jumped onto her shoulder. She had no idea what she was saying but she knew Suta would. Once Nyana was done and jumped back to Alice Rose started walking again. "Suta will come out when she is ready and not a mean sooner. So don't worry Nyana she'll be fine." Turning to Alice she nodded in agreement. "Yes lets continue we have wasted enough time. We can practice later."

Up ahead Rose could see the fores and smiled. The journey was about to truly begin. "Nyanko you still want to lead the way?"

Alice followed her gaze and smiled. Nyana let out a purr as rubbed her charm with a paw. Nyanko took a glimpse at the coordinator before jumping off Alice's shoulder. His tail high like a flag again. He let out proud meow before stalking off toward the forest. This time Nyana followed but in a more subtle fashion. Alice looked to her she-meowth, Keep him in check, alright? The meowth meowed. Alice looked at the forest again, praying that she wouldn't get lost again. Though this time she had people to guide her so it was bound to be better than before. She snug her egg closer, she could feel her own heart-beat in the egg; or was that the egg's heart? For a moment she raised it to her, it was warmer than before and she could the small starting of a crack. Alice felt giddy, her first egg was going to hatch in a few days.

Suta poked her head of the the bag and climbed back onto Rose's shoulder rubbing her cheek against Roses.

Rose laughed softly when Suta rubbed her cheek with hers. "Gladly your ok Suta. Where about to enter the forest. Who knows maybe we'll get a new pokemon." As she fallowed Nyanko she thought about other moves and acts Suta could learn. As they stepped into the woods they became encased in darkness. The sounds of pokemon could be here in the surrounding trees. A chill ran up her spine as she thought she felt something touch her from behind. Spinning around she expected to see something but there was nothing there. "I always hated this place it's so creepy."

Suta shivered and pressed closer to Rose.

Alice followed the others into the forest. The place was always so dark and creepy Alice that it would be a perfect place for dark types. She jumped when Rose suddenly spun around, Wh-What is it? Both of her pokemon turned to look at her. Alice gave them a reassuring smile before they both continued on. This place is pretty creepy, especially when you can't usually tell if its morning or night. She walked next to Rose and rubbed her pikachu's back. It'll be alright, your most likely the strongest one here. She gave Suta a warm smile. Nyanko let out an indignant puff and Nyana merely let out a small meow.

Hey, hey rely on us bit more. Nyana meowed. I can handle anything that'll come at us. Nyanko puffed; stretching his long, sharp claws against the soft soil. Right~ Nyana almost laughed. The she-meowth bounded to her fellow's side and poked him in the side with a soft pad. And what part of this gelatin is suppose to be the big, buff guy, hm? Nyanko made an astonished pose. Who're you callin` gelatin? I'm obviously strong and powerful. Nyana laughed, Nyanko's face lit with a little blush, Oh be quiet and go protect our master, I'll keep watch from the front. The she-meowth made a shrug-like gesture. She bounded to Alice and hopped up on her shoulder.

[♫Ginny♪]

Rose shrugged, "nothing I'm sure I just thought I felt something touch me. Tell me about it I hate it. I hate it here. I can't wait till we get to the other side." Rose watched as Suta climbed back into her book bag. Only her head peeking out of the bag.

Hearing Alice Suta climbed out not wanting the others to think she was week. She ran ahead of Nyanko and held her head high.

[Stern]

Out of the forest, from the shelter of the trees, scuttled two Paras. Their claws clacked together as they noticed the two people and their Pokemon. They started scuttling away, down the path, the mushrooms on their back wiggling as the Pokemon moved.

Alice chuckled as she watched Nyanko get upstaged by Suta. The meowth huffed and shot ahead to get ahead of the pikachu. But he stopped abruptly and Alice could see why. Mushrooms... Moving mushrooms. ALice blinked a few times, wondering if some ghost pokemon had hypnotized her somehow but realized that wasn't the case when two paras popped out from the trees. They were running away. Instantly Alice commanded, Nyanko, Nyana cut those paras off! Don't let them escape! The two obeyed with a jolt and ran ahead to cut off the paras's runaway. What luck that theres two of them. Alice smiled, then looked to Rose, Lets get `em.

Rose spotted them as well. While Nyanko and Nyana cut them off she would attack. "Suta use Thunder Shock on both Paras's." She couldn't believe their luck.

Suta ran up to the pokemon and jumped and used thunder shock.

Running up to Suta Rose waited to see if the move would hit or not.

[Stern]

The Paras stopped in their tracks as the two Meowths jumped in front of them. One of them was hit with the Thundershock, but the second was able to dodge it by an inch. They both used stun spore, one on the Meowths and the other on Suta.

Alice had run to her pokemon just in time to see Nyana paralyzed with a stun spore. Nyanko use scratch on the paras! The meowth obeyed with an obvious glee, unsheating his claws to swipe at the paras who paralyzed Nyana. Nyana backed up, her movement was like a picture-frame in motion. Alice called the she-meowth back and she came ever so slowly.

"Suta use that move we used earlier."

Suta nodded and jumped and began to spin using thunder shock that incinerated the stun spore. She stumbled slightly at landing but not as bad as earlier.

Rose smiled, "well done Suta now take on the other pokemon while Nyanko takes that one on. Use thunder shock again."

Suta ran back to Rose and jumped into the air using Thunder Shock.

[♫ ~ Leap ~ ♫]

The first Paras let out a wail of terror as claws mad contact with it's body. The newly found cut burned ever so, and it found itself angrier then ever. With a battle cry, powered by anger, it leaped forward, it's own form of weapon glowing a faint white. Cut. Yes, this attack would have to do the trick against the Meowth. But it was running low on steam - badly - and it feared another hit would be the end of itself. It continued onward, however, driven by it's own Pokemon instincts. Headstrong as usual.

However, the second wasn't having as easy of a time with it's attacks. It's stun spore was canceled out by the electric type's Thunder Shock and it let out a hiss of annoyance. That should have worked! But there was no time to dwell on that. The human was ordering the yellow colored Pikachu to attack again, and the bug-type braced itself for attack. However, when it attacked, the Thunder Shock proved to be fatal. It was flung backwards and, with little effort, was knocked out.

Notes: Bug types. Ew. First time~! Sorry it's so lame! Better then a lot of my older stuffs, though... ;w;

Alice watched as the paras struck forth with a cut attack. Nyanko, use scratch again quickly! A hit or be hit situation. The cut hit the meowth right against the chest but Nyanko wasn't going to get pushed back by it and slashed its claws forward. Its chest burned with the cut it had recieved. Nyanko, keep strong. Alice looked at the meowth. The meowth gave a loud yowl as it swung its clawed paw again.
