Hey guys, so I have a rather big dilemma right now, and I don’t know what to do. If you could just give me your thoughts on the matter, it would mean a lot to me. :- )
I have a chance to go to UC Davis this summer and be a part of the COSMOS program, a four week program on campus. They have a ‘cluster’, or class, that is based on exactly what I want to do when I’m older, veterinary medicine. It’s an application program, but I think I’d be able to get in, with my college classes and whatnot.
But that’s the problem… I set myself a goal when I started High School. I want to graduate with my AS, 60 units. I’ve done the math, and if I work hard and get three classes a semester, I can actually afford to take off the summer semester, but only by a small margin.
I just don’t know what to do. I want to make sure I stay on my goal, but this program is such a good chance, and it’s planned to be a help to get into Davis when I finally do finish High School. If I don’t get the classes that I need for the summer of my junior year, though, then I won’t be able to meet my goal…
What do you guys think on the matter?

I think sometimes breaking your goal and making a new one is worth it if what you are breaking it for is going to be the best solution. I say take the COSMOS program. I had a goal in staying at the same school for high school but i change it to go to a school called MVCTC which allow me to get classes in auto mechanics which i don't regret. But you have to say is it worth risking my goal for my future.
